Real Estate: Drones

Florida drone pilots have received almost 100 exemptions from the Federal Aviation Administration.  Almost half for real estate purposes.

Drones are used for photographing property, looking at waterways, a multitude of law enforcement activities, and more.

To get an exemption that will allow you to fly a drone, you must first have a pilots license and be aware of a variety of other rules like not fly your drone near airports, no flying higher than 400 feet, the drone must always be within view and daytime only flying is allowed.

The use of drones can be dangerous and is taken seriously by the authorities. The tracking of drones is being looked into seriously for Homeland Security reasons, so they can be tracked and collisions investigated, etc…

If you are interested in flying a drone, contact the FAA.  Laws pertaining to this subject matter are still being reviewed and tweaked.

Nationwide as of this typing, there have been almost 800 violations reported.

Since there are radio waves between the remote used by the pilot and the drone itself, the use of drones can be tracked.  Supposedly the tracking is so accurate, the signal can be traced from the drone itself to the remote.

Homeowners are allowed “quiet enjoyment” of their property….a drone hovering over their property may not be such a wise thing to do.  Drones can be fun but you must also be respectful of others and their property.
